Features · Colour bar

Colour, weighed to the gram.

Every formula weighed as it’s mixed, so it repeats exactly, comes out of stock by the tube, and tells you what each colour service costs. It’s on the same plan as everything else, not an add-on.

The day’s colour, ready to mix

The colour bar lists the day’s colour appointments in time order, each with the client’s last formula, bowl by bowl, and who’s up next. It’s made for the tablet at your colour bar: the mixing screen fills it, with big buttons for wet or gloved fingers.

Mixed from last time, less what was left

A new formula starts from the client’s last one, less whatever was left in the bowl last time. Mix more or less of a bowl by a percentage or by grams, and the developer stays at its ratio.

  • Products picked by brand and shade, each with a swatch of its colour
  • Developer worked out at 1:1, 1:1.5 or 1:2
  • A bowl each for roots, lengths, a toner or a gloss, with its own processing time
  • Barcode scanning to find a product in the list

Poured on a scale, or typed

Acaia’s Bluetooth scales (the Pearl, Lunar, Pyxis and others) connect in the FullColumn app on an iPad, iPhone or Android, or in Chrome or Edge on a computer. Each product fills a ring to the formula’s grams: green when it’s right, orange and red when it’s over. Or weigh on any scale and type the grams.

What colour costs you

Tubes and bottles come out of stock as formulas use them, a whole one at a time. The colour report shows grams and cost by service, stylist and product, colour cost as a share of the service’s price, what was left in the bowl, what was poured over, and colour services finished without a formula.

Questions

Do I need a scale that connects to FullColumn?

No. Weigh on any scale and type the grams. An Acaia scale connects over Bluetooth, to save typing.

Does the colour bar work on an iPad?

Yes, the mixing screen is made for a tablet. To connect an Acaia scale on an iPad or iPhone, use the FullColumn app: Safari can’t use Bluetooth.

Can we still type formulas?

Yes. Typed formulas keep working: weigh the ones you want to, and type the rest. Only weighed formulas count in the colour report.

Is the colour bar extra?

No. The colour bar, connected scales and the colour report are on the one plan with everything else.

Can I bring formulas from my old booking system?

Yes. Colour formulas and notes import from a CSV or Excel export, onto each client’s card with their original dates.
